Amsterdam Tournament

Good luck to Danny in his next adventure!

We have been very busy the last couple of months preparing for a tournament that we will be playing June 6th and 7th.

We were delighted to have one of the referees visit us from Amsterdam and guide us in the right direction.

This tournament will consist of six teams, Ireland, Belgium, Dutch national team, Amsterdam, Letchworth (UK) and a combination of Irish and Dutch on a team.

I think I can safely say that there will be lots of laughter, fun and bruises in the mix.

The Irish Team is:

Liam, Trish, Louise, Corey, Alan, Karl, Paul, Lisa and Ian.

We are so excited to meet all the other teams and give them a run for their money! just kidding.

We wish Jim the best of luck in running the event and thank him for this amazing opportunity.

We will keep you posted with pictures and any details we have about how we are getting on!

The two Irish teams- WB and Comets

All I think we can say is, what an experience!

Between being our first official tournament abroad and being able to represent Ireland, we were all on such a high.

Firstly we would like to thank the organiser of the event Jim for having us and making us feel so welcome. we would also like to thank all the teams that took part. we can safely say our hockey family has expanded and is ever growing.

We would like to thank our supporters for cheering us on with their amaziing running commentry and photo skill (including the selfies).

Although we didnt achieve as much as we hoped, we can safely say we will be back in that tournament bigger and stronger. we had such an amazing time and we will take everything we have learnt and apply it to making us develop more as a team and as individual players.

We are currently organising our second annual Willie Buckley cup and have invited some teams to travel over to play. We hope that we can live up to the hosting standard of the Zaandam team and show the teams our skill on our own turf.

Thank you again and we will see you guys soon !!

UK TRIP

We are super excited to be going away to the UK this weekend. We are going to Letchworth to do some training and play some friendly matches against teams from across the UK.

This is a huge deal to us to create new contacts, meet up with old friends and develop new skills in the process.

We will be taking loads of photos, so keep an eye out here for the latest news and updates about our travels.

We are delighted to have had such a great weekend in Letchworth. we had a great training session, along with an even better friendly match. Unfortunatly we didnt win our match, but we hope we left a lasting impression.

we just want to say a huge thank you to Keith Allen and his wife Julia for their hospitality, as well as finbar and many other people we have met over the weekend.

We want to say a huge thank you to the Letchworth team for welcoming us with open arms and we look forward to seeing them and playing them in the very near future.

Return from the UK.

First time in 25yrs an Irish team went to Letchworth. we are honoured to be part of it.

Good luck to Danny!

WB rink hockey would like to wish our coach Danny Vienna good luck in his new adventure.

Because of work reasons Danny has to move away but we just want to wish him the best of luck and hope that the move is successful.

To say thank you to him, the team got him an Azemad stick, for all the hard work and advice he brought to the team. Steve from slapshot ensured we got the delivery on time to make sure that Danny could pack the stick away to be shipped off to his new destination.

In 2015 we have loads of plans to take place. We are so excited to have so much happening in the new year. We are setting up another team in Spin roller disco on the Longmile road, Dublin. we are also going to the UK for some training weekends and some friendly matches.

We would love to have you a part of our journey through 2015. Show your love and support to us for the new year!

THE FIRST ANNUAL WILLIE BUCKLEY TOURNAMENT WENT OFF TO A GREAT START

The origional Irish roller hockey enthusiast was remembered today with the first of many hockey tournaments.

There was a fantastic turn out with players and spectators alike.

There was a range of three different leagues, from kids (under 10s),  Juniors (all ages) and senior/veteran matches.

Each player, big or small, received a massive reponse from fellow players and local support.

Huge thanks to the President of the National Roller Hockey Association, Keith Allen, for coming all the way from the UK to show support and help with all our up and coming plans.
